A Light Shines in the Darkness: A Preached Retreat for an Anxious World

Grow personally and spiritually through this one-day preached retreat that is part of a research study to evaluate whether preaching meaning in Jesus Christ,
the Logos, can help address the feelings of emptiness and meaninglessness that are associated with anxiety.
Sign in and coffee begin at 8:30 am. Lunch will be provided.
Host and Researcher: Deacon Michael A. Meyer, a deacon of the Diocese of Metuchen and Doctor of Ministry candidate at Aquinas Institute of Theology, St. Louis, MO.
Participation is open to Roman Catholic (Eastern or Western Church) adults (18 or older) living in the Diocese of Metuchen (Middlesex, Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren counties, NJ) who suffer from anxiety.
Time Commitment: The study will take approximately 9 hours of your time, consisting of
• An online pre-retreat survey
• A 6 ½ hour preached retreat, including preachings, light activities, and a guided discussion
• Simple, post-retreat spiritual exercises and
• An online post-retreat survey
